According to the study conducted by the Observatoire Mediterranéen de l’Energie (OME), Medgaz is the most cost-effective way of supplying natural gas to Southern Europe.

It is the most economically advantageous means because it involves a direct route, with a shorter length compared to the existing gas pipeline, leading to lower energy costs and the avoidance of transit tolls for passage through third countries.
